Telling people to reach out is great but as someone who struggles myself 9 times out of 10 a depressed and/or suicidal person Is NOT going to reach out instead go check on your friends. Ask them if they’re ok and not just once. Tell them you’re there for them even if they don’t feel like talking. Be there. We can tell people to reach out for help all we want but when you’re in the mindset that you don’t deserve help or you’re a nuisance to everyone you’re not going to reach out or ask for help someone stepping in is what it’s gonna take. Pay attention and if something, anything feels off even if it’s not ask them and if they don’t want to open up just yet talk to them and tell them what they mean to you and how much you love them. Tell them what a difference they’ve made in your life. Let them know you’re there for them no matter what, no matter when. Don’t just send one message and give up. Just something as simple as distracting them for a bit could help. You don’t have to be suffocating but trust me a simple “how are you doing?” Can help immensely.
